The Marvel cinematic universe keeps getting larger. While audiences are drawn to the movies in droves, fans are enjoying all the connected material, from television’s “Agents of SHIELD” to the series of Netflix shows such as “Daredevil” and “Jessica Jones.”
Now we have a new pair of names to add to that list: Cloak and Dagger.
Marvel has announced that a live action adaptation of the series will be filmed and aired on Freeform. The cast and air date has not yet been disclosed.
According to Marvel:
Announced today at Freeform’s upfront event, “Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger” follows Tandy Bowen and Tyronne Johnson, two teenagers from very different backgrounds, who find themselves burdened by and awakened to newly acquired super powers while falling in love. Tandy can emit light daggers and Tyrone has the ability to engulf others in darkness. They quickly learn that they are better together than apart–but their feelings for each other make their already complicated world even more challenging.
Interestingly, Cloak’s powers tie into the “Darkforce,” which has been briefly alluded to in recent episodes of “Agents of SHIELD,” as well as “Agent Carter.” Darkforce will also play a role in the upcoming “Doctor Strange” movie, tying all the worlds together.
Keep an eye out for more “Cloak and Dagger” news as it comes, and let us know your thoughts in the comments!
