KickSat To Launch 100+ Tiny Satellites On March 30th

KickSat is a Kickstarter project from 2011 that is set to launch tiny satellites on March 30th. There will be more than 100 of the “Sprite” satellites, which will orbit the Earth as part of a tech demonstration. Every satellite is equipped with a radio, two antennas,  solar cells, a gyroscope, magnetometer, and a Texas Instruments microcontroller. The Sprites are deployed from a “KickSat cube satellite on April 1st, and will transmit telemetry packets that can be picked up by anyone with a basic AM radio equipment setup.
