It almost seemed unbelievable – a live-action movie based on a video game about a talking Pikachu that solves crimes. Then Ryan Reynolds was announced for the lead role, and the world wondered if it was serious or a big prank by Warner Bros. But the movie is real, and the first trailer just dropped.
In addition to the plot synopsis, the trailer showcases several Pokemon in the most realistic CGI yet – ever hair on Pikachu’s fur is visible and animated. So if you’ve ever wondered what Charizard or Mr. Mime would look like in real life, this is as close as it gets.
