It looks like even without Hideo Kojima, Konami is planning on keeping the Metal Gear franchise around (at least for another installment). At Gamescom 2016 the company unveiled ‘Metal Gear Survive’. The game is set after the events of ‘Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes’ and players will find themselves fighting against enemies such as zombies in what seems to be an alternate universe. Yeah…you heard right…zombies and alternate universe.
In a press release Konami European president, Tomotada Tashiro says;
“Metal Gear Survive will offer a fresh take on the series’ famed stealth elements, but within a unique co-op setting that is designed for a truly engrossing multiplayer experience.”
While details are scarce at the moment, word is that the game will be built for four player co-op and the Konami fact sheet refers to it as “survival done the Metal Gear way”. ‘Metal Gear Survive’ is set for release on the PlayStation 4, the Xbox One, and PC in 2017.[Source: IGN]
