‘Metroid: The Sky Calls’ an Amazing Metroid Fan Film

Wow…wow…wow! If you’re a fan of the video game series ‘Metroid’ you’re going to want to check out this VERY impressive new fan film entitled ‘Metroid: The Sky Calls’. In this 70’s style homage to the classic video game, Jessica Chobot dons the armor of Samus Aran. The eleven minute film was directed by Sam Balcomb and Rainfall Films which is a three man US production company which was also behind an amazing ‘Legend of Zelda’ trailer that was posted up on April Fool’s Day in 2008.

“The classic Nintendo franchise, Metroid, envisioned through the lens of 60s-70s science fiction cinema such as 2001, Alien, and Solaris: this was the concept for Rainfall’s most recent production. Instead of using a modern approach, a style was developed more in tune with the themes that inspired the first Metroid game in 1986: isolation, exploration, and the wonders of deep space.”
