Inuyasha to Receive Anime Sequel

Inuyasha, the famous anime and manga series by Rumiko Takahashi, was all but unavoidable in the early 2000’s anime fan community. After 56 manga volumes and a “Final Act” anime, the series concluded and Rumiko Takahashi moved on to new works.

But it’s not uncommon for beloved properties to return, and it seems Inuyasha may be coming back as well.

An announcement from Shonen Sunday revealed a sequel anime to Inuyasha. This sequel, titled “Hanyou no Yasha Hime,” will reportedly follow the adventures of the original cast’s children. Specifically, it will focus on the children of Inuyasha and Kagome (the original series’ protagonists) as well as that of Sesshomaru, Inuyasha’s full-demon brother and occasional antagonist.

While details are vague, we were given our first look at the visuals from Twitter user @RanobeSugoi and the Rumic World Facebook page.

Ten years later, the tunnel that connects the two eras has reopened, allowing Towa to be reunited with Setsuna, who is now a Demon Slayer working for Kohaku. But to Towa’s shock, Setsuna appears to have lost all memories of her older sister.

Joined by Moroha, the daughter of Inuyasha and Kagome, the three young women travel between the two eras on an adventure to regain their missing past.
