Conventions: Wizard World Sacramento This Weekend!

The Wizard World Convention Machine rolls into Sacramento this weekend and they are taking no prisoners!  With a top tier guest list that will leave in disbelief (and penniless).  Captain America star Sebastian Stan, X-Men standout Evan Peters, Hayley Atwell (“Agent Carter,” Captain America: The First Avenger), William Shatner (“Star Trek,” “Boston Legal”), and Baseball Hall of Famer Reggie Jackson (The Naked Gun) headline the roster of celebrity guests scheduled to attend the pop culture extravaganza.


Returning to the Sacramento Convention Center in downtown, we are looking forward to the press meet and greets and will hopefully have some great pictures up in next week’s galleries.


In addition to the convention this weekend Wizard World has added ANOTHER event held in conjunction with the Travis Air Force Base:

WHO:  Wizard World, Inc., the predominant producer of Comic Cons across North America, will host a Hometown Heroes event with Travis Air Force Base on Friday, June 17 at the Sacramento Convention Center.  Travis Air Force Base service members to be honored at the event include Staff Sgt. Spencer Stone, Maj. Virgil Steele, Master Sgt. Matthew Warren, Tech. Sgt. John Ayre, Staff Sgt. Johnathan Gales, Senior Airman Ian McGuigan, Airman 1st Class Tahj Beaudoin and Airman Sharnette Reyes.  Wizard World CEO John Maatta, COO Randy Malinoff, and all-star talent will honor these service members who have gone above and beyond in the line of duty by delivering a speech and conducting a salute and flag ceremony. Confirmed talent includes Michael Cudlitz, known for his role as Sergeant Abraham Ford in the hit TV series The Walking Dead, Carroll Spinney, the voice of Big Bird, Dean Cain, who played Superman in Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, Billy Boyd from The Lord of the Rings trilogy, and “The World’s Largest Athlete,” WWE Superstar, Big Show.

WHAT:  Wizard World, Inc. will host its inaugural Hometown Heroes event in partnership with Travis Air Force Base on Friday, June 17 in Sacramento.  Wizard World produces comic cons and pop culture conventions across North America that celebrate the best in pop-fi, pop culture, movies, television, cosplay, comics, graphic novels, toys, video gaming, sci-fi, gaming, original art, collectibles, contests and more.
