Season 3 of “Arrow” is on its way, and has already promised so much. In addition to characters such as The Atom (Brandon Routh), the appearance of Ra’s al Ghul, Roy Harper (Colton Haynes) taking on a larger role as Oliver’s sidekick, and the long-awaited “The Flash” spinoff, we have another DC character announced to join the cast.
In this case, we have David Cubitt as Manhunter. Mind you, that’s not exactly an uncommon name in the DC Universe, between the Martian Manhunter and the robotic Manhunters that “no man escapes,” but in this case, it’s referring to Mark Shaw, vigilante and previous member of the Suicide Squad.
Speaking of, the Suicide Squad did make an appearance on “Arrow,” as watchers of the show are well aware (and many are hoping will return with Harley Quinn onboard). It’s unspecified if the Squad will be returning, or if Manhunter will be appearing in flashbacks (although off the island this time), or if he’ll hold any connection to the show’s Suicide Squad at all.
We’ll learn more about new characters and their roles as the season premier gets closer. “Arrow” returns to TV on October 8 at 8/7c.
