Marvel’s “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” completed its first season a few months ago, and fans are looking forward to season 2. While we probably won’t be getting a “Guardians of the Galaxy” tie-in, like they did with “Thor 2” and, more successfully, “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” due to timing and the whole “taking place in outer space” thing, recent news about season 2 has been causing a stir on the web, with the addition of a famous warrior princess.
No, not Wonder Woman, that’s a DC character. You know that.
I’m talking about Xena, but more specifically, Lucy Lawless, who famously brought the character to life. She’s been confirmed to join the show for season 2, although we do not yet know what her role will be or how long she’ll be a part of the show.
However, given how season 1 ended, it would be rash to assume she’s just some other S.H.I.E.L.D. agent. Will she play a large role in re-creating the organization? Perhaps she’ll tie into the larger Marvel universe; we’ve had Asgardians move into Midgard, aliens invade, and rumors the Inhumans will be introduced to the cinematic universe. Until we get more news, though, it’s all just guessing.
No matter how they tie her in, we can look forward to seeing Lucy Lawless join S.H.I.E.L.D. when the show returns on September 23rd.
