Posters in “Guardians of the Galaxy 2” Point to Nathan Fillion Role?

Nathan Fillion is no stranger to comic book adaptations, given his voice roles in several of DC’s animated works, and a cameo as one of the alien prisoners in the first “Guardians of the Galaxy” film. However, fans have been wondering if and hoping that he’d have a larger role in any future films.

At first there were whispers that his “GotG” cameo would be as Nova, but the way the film presented the Nova Corps, that wouldn’t be much of a hero role. While many (myself included) are still hoping for Fillion to team-up with Alan Tudyk again to take on the roles of Booster Gold and Blue Beetle, it seems his next appearance will once again be in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Pictures from around the set of “Guardians of the Galaxy 2” show not necessarily Nathan himself, but posters of him adorning the walls of a cinema. The marquee proclaims “Simon Williams Film Festival,” a name Marvel readers may better recognize as Wonder Man.

250px-WonderMan-1This does not necessarily mean that Nathan Fillion will be making an actual appearance in GotG2, nor does it mean Wonder Man will be making an appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe any time soon. It could very well just be a little Easter Egg thrown in for our entertainment. But with all the fan demand for Fillion to take a more prominent role in the MCU, it could be the first step to seeing him stand alongside the Avengers or the Guardians of the Galaxy.

Or at least a role in The Defenders on Netflix, that’s not too much to ask, right?
