An arcade cabinet that donates it’s money to charity

Sweden’s airports have thought of a genius way to encourage people to donate their left over foreign currency to charity.

Combining the traditional charity box with retro arcade games Pacman, Space Invaders and Galaga. Sweden’s airports want to make it fun to donate to charity whilst also killing time while you wait for your baggage. The aim is to create a better experience for both parties and it should prove to be a winning combination.

The cabinets accept any foreign currency and we suspect there is no fixed amount you need to insert for a credit. All the money generated from the cabinets will be donated to the Red Cross and if this is successful it would be great to see these at more airports around the world.

What an amazing idea from an airport knowing that not only are people bored at airports but people love to donate when they can. I would love to see more of these pop up places. It’s such a cool and inspirational thing. Good going Sweden for bringing us Geeky charity stuff.
