We at G33k-HQ are always on the lookout for new events we can cover and attend. Our friends in the Stockton Area pointed me to this one. Thanks Jedi Moon Cosplay and Jose Hernandez for pointing me at this event. I have always said that I like supporting local, does not get any more local than a high school. Below is the official information from the event. Hope to see you all at con.
Press Release:
Hosted by the Bear Creek Educational and Athletic Foundation
Saturday, Jan. 21, 2017 from 10am-4pm
This Con came from the wish and dream of a 11 year old boy, Daniel Garcia, who wanted to create his own Con with a few friends at a local lodge. Two years later, we are here and Creek Con is about to happen.
This is a non-profit Con with all monies going to clubs, student government and teams at Bear Creek High School. We have vendors and local artists attending, including Bear Creek students. Cosplay is welcome and encouraged (follow SD Comic-Con rules) and there will be a contest later in the day. Movies will be shown in the school theater and there will be some gaming. A delicious snack bar will be available.
Admission is $5. Kids 10 and under are free. Parking is free and on campus.
Creek Con is being held at a school–no smoking and no alcohol. Please bring common sense and no pets except for service animals.
Tickets can be purchased at Al’s Comics in Stockton, The Launchpad in Lodi, Brown Paper Tickets online and at the site on the day of the event.
Limited tickets–less than 1000 tickets available.
