Crunchyroll, the anime streaming service, just announced they are partnering with LeftField Media on a new anime convention, Crunchyroll Expo. The event will be held on August 25th-27th at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, California. Not much is known yet about the convention other than the one paragraph posted on its website:

Join us for this celebration of anime, manga, games, guests, cosplay, and so much more!
Crunchyroll Director of Events Adam Sheehan said:
“you’re going to see some things that have not been done before at anime cons, some things that have been done but we’re going to do it differently, and some of the fan favorites that people continue to enjoy [will be] brought back either in different ways, or more broadly and more extensively for the fans.”
