With Blizzard having their newly created ‘Heroes of the Storm’ MOBA, or Multiplayer online battle arena, being only in Beta and being so popular, it will be making its way to cable television. ESPN recently announced that it will broadcast an upcoming eSports tournament ‘Heroes of The Dorm.’ Heroes of the Dorm will be a Blizzard ran tournament taking place at the end of the month. Match up, via Blizzard’s Battle.net servers, over the next few weeks students from the US and Canada will be playing for the chance to win “$25,000 per year in tuition reimbursement for the rest of their college careers.” This means that one lucky team of five students will be able to actually have a chance at a decent college career. If you want to signing up for the tournament there are a few things you will need to know.
Registration is already underway and open until March 26th. Your team needs to be between five and seven students who attend the same college as you do. Although you can have seven on your team, only five will be able to win the tuition reimbursement. The first round of qualification id on March 28th and 29th. You must make it through the qualification rounds to be entered in the tournament. The tournament starts on April 11th and and will run through April 19th, with the last four teams will having their matches televised on ESPN.
