The folks at Roseville Comic Con may not be returning this year, but with Placer County, CA in phase 3 of opening the event will still happen, but as a swap meet.
If you are one of those people that is wiling to venture out, we know they will be doing everything they can to bring you as safe of an event as they can.
We hope you are doing well during these trying times. Being that Roseville Comic Con and Anime Roseville went well, we had originally planned on adding Roseville Toy Con to Roseville’s brand new 100k square foot event center, going as far as reserving the venue and signing the contract. With the onset of COVID-19 and cancellation of all events, we never officially announced the convention.
Fast forward to the present. Placer County has reached stage 3 and have allowed Denios Flea Market to re-open. Working with the Placer County Health Department, the Placer County Event Center is confident that we can move forward with our planned convention, classifying it as a swap meet rather than an event.
So instead of holding Roseville Toy Con as we originally planned, we will be holding a more general convention, “Roseville Comic Con Swap Meet” on July 12, 2020. Due to the swap meet classification and need to forgo the possibility of large lines, we are not allowed to host any celebrity guests or panels. But we are offering space to local comic book creators who would like to sell their wares at our convention.
– Admission will be $10 at the door, and the facility will charge $10 for parking.
– Masks will be required to be worn by all staff, vendors and attendees. We want this to be a safe event (as safe as we can make it.)
