Boba Fett Film with James Mangold

With ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’ opening in theaters today it looks like we’re going to have another character driven movie featuring a certain fan favorite from a galaxy far far away. That’s right! It’s time to don your suit of Mandalorian armor and tally up your bounties because we’re going to be getting a Boba Fett movie!

James Mangold (Logan and Walk the Line) is currently attached to the project as a writer and director according to The Hollywood Reporter. The bad ass bounty hunter was first properly introduced in ‘Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back’ (we also saw him in the animated ‘Star Wars Holiday Special’). Then we learned more about the character in the expanded universe and he soon became a cult favorite and even spawned a huge costuming group called the Mandalorian Mercs. After Disney picked up the franchise and give it bit of a reboot, we saw young Boba Fett grow up in the animated ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’ series.

At the moment details about the story is kept under lock and key. But don’t worry because we’ll be sure to keep our ears to the ground and hunt down more news as it develops. Also really hoping Dave Filoni (Star Wars: Rebels and Avatar: The Last Airbender) will be at least consulting on this project.
