Film: New Ultraman Coming To Netflix

According to ANN, Anime News Network, a new 3D CG Ultraman will be landing in Netflix in Spring of 2019. The show will be based off of the “12th compiled book volume of Eiichi Shimizu and Tomohiro Shimoguchi‘s Ultraman manga.”

As previously announcedKenji Kamiyama (Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone ComplexEden of the EastNapping Princess) and Shinji Aramaki(AppleseedHarlock: Space PirateStarship Troopers: Traitor of Mars) are directing. Production I.G (Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone ComplexEden of the EastNapping Princess) and Sola Digital Arts (Appleseed AlphaStarship Troopers: InvasionStarship Troopers: Traitor of Mars) are producing the anime in 3D CG.

Viz Media publishes the Ultraman manga in North America, and it describes the story:

Decades ago, a being known as the Giant of Light joined Shin Hayata of the Scientific Special Search Party to save Earth from an invasion of terrifying monsters known as Kaiju.
