The first trailer for, “Ronja, The Robber’s Daughter.” a Studio Ghibli produced show for Amazon Prime’s streaming service is out.
And “Ronja, The Robber’s Daughter” is the first show Ghibli has made, but knowing Ghibli‘s track record, it will most like be a masterpiece that is tantamount to printing money. Without Hayao Miyazaki but rather his son, Goro Miyazaki, helming this ship, this will be the possible (yet almost guaranteed start) to a legacy that will have fans yearning for more.
Based on a 1981 fantasy novel by Astrid Lindgren, the guy who brought us Pippi Longstocking, Ronja is about a young girl growing up in a woodland full of creatures, as the only child of the leader of a band of notorious thieves, which is every bit as childish and fun as some of other classics of Ghibli, such as Howl’s Moving Castle.
With everything, Amazon Prime has made one of its smartest acquisitions. As a fan, I want nothing more than to see this show succeed because of the storytelling style of Ghibli and the beautiful animation they are known to bring to the table.
Presented by Studio Ghibli. The daughter of a professional robber, Ronja realizes the complicated nature of her father’s profession when she befriends Birk, the child of a rival tribe. She struggles to balance this friendship with her family relationship but comes to understand, how differences can be overcome with the help of love and understanding.
