It looks like Léa Seydoux (It’s Only the End of the World and Spectre) has snagged herself a lead role in the upcoming Rupert Wyatt (The Gambler and Rise of the Planet of the Apes) film ‘Gambit’. According to Deadline, she has been confirmed to officially star alongside Channing Tatum (Hail, Caesar! and The Hateful Eight) who will be taking on the lead role of Gambit.
The role Seydoux will be taking on is going to be Bella Donna Boudreaux who has a background with the Ragin’ Cajun. The character is the daughter of the leader of the New Orleans Assassins’ Guild. The guild has been in conflict with the Thieves’ Guild which Gambit is a part of which should make the two mortal enemies. Instead the two are friends and leader became betrothed to each other which was supposed to bridge an alliance between the two groups. But through a series of events, Gambit became excommunicated from the Thieves’ Guild and exiled from New Orleans.
Seydoux looks to be perfect for the role and from what we hear it all sounds pretty exciting. ‘Gambit’ is scheduled to start shooting this Fall, with a release date of October 7, 2016.[Source: Deadline]
