It looks like actress Milla Jovovich (Hellboy and Resident Evil: The Final Chapter) will be donning some armor, equipping an oversized weapon, and getting ready to hunt down some giant monsters in the upcoming ‘Monster Hunter’ movie. Directed by Paul W. S. Anderson (Resident Evil: The Final Chapter and Pompeii) the film is set to go into production this September according to Variety.
Adapted from the popular Capcom video game franchise the movie will be produced and financed through Constantin Film. With a budget of around $60 million, the project is set to be shot around Cape Town in South Africa.
While at the Cannes Film Festival, Martin Moszkowicz a member of the Executive Board at Constantin Film reveals that the project is meant to be a film series, much like Anderson’s previous ‘Resident Evil’ film series;
“We are in the business of brand creation.”
Some pretty interesting news there to digest. What do you think of a ‘Monster Hunter’ film series starring Jovovich with Anderson attached to direct? Are you excited about it? Worried? Let us know!Variety]
