SKULLKICKERS Gets Animated Series

The SKULLKICKERS comic series is coming to the small screen with an animated adaptation from Copernicus Studios Inc. The announced show will be an animated action-adventure comedy series, described as “Deadpool meets Dungeons & Dragons.”

SKULLKICKERS is comedic and irreverent sword & sorcery comic starring a trio of mercenaries who leave a path of mayhem and destruction in their wake. Written by Jim Zub and illustrated by Edwin Huang and Chris Stevens, the comic was published by Image Comics in 2010 and has maintained a loyal following.

According to Paul Rigg, President of Copernicus Studios:

“Demand for adult animated content is on the rise. Over the past few years we’ve seen the popularity of anime and other content for mature audiences increase in North America. Shows like Castlevania, Genndy Tartakovsky’s Primal, and Rick & Morty are grabbing attention for good reason. It’s a great time to make our mark in this space.”

If you’re interested in learning more about SKULLKICKERS, writer Jim Zub made the first volume available for free via his Patreon.

While more information about the SKULLKICKERS animated series has yet to be announced, fans of the comic – or animated fantasy in general – can get excited to see what’s ahead. Keep an eye on G33k-HQ for more information on SKULLKICKERS as it comes!
