The Doctor has been through all of time and space, but never to Westeros (and probably for a good reason, unless he wants to regenerate again). In the upcoming season of Doctor Who, however, we’ll be getting about as close as possible when Maisie Williams, who plays Arya Stark on Game of Thrones, will be appearing.
All that is known so far is that she will be making an appearance for an episode; whether she’ll be an ally or enemy, human or alien, or anything else, is still unknown. However, Steven Moffat has stated: “She is going to challenge the Doctor in very unexpected ways. This time he might just be out of his depth, and we know Maisie is going to give him exactly the right sort of hell.”
Williams herself is looking forward to joining, stating “I’m so excited to be working on Doctor Who as it’s such a big and important part of British Culture. I can’t wait to meet the cast and crew and start filming, especially as we’ll be shooting not too far from my home town.”
Also announced were upcoming episode names: “The Girl Who Died” and “The Woman Who Lived.” Additional guest cast members were mentioned as well, including Rufus Hound, Tom Stourton, Ian Conningham, and more.
Doctor Who returns in Autumn, but Maisie Williams will be back on TV sooner as the new season of Game of Thrones airs this weekend.
