“Legend of Zelda” Netflix Rumors Denied

Not too long ago, the internet went abuzz over an article from the Wall Street Journal, claiming that there was a live-action version of “The Legend of Zelda” in the works. Word had it that it would be made as a Netflix original, boasted as a more family-friendly show in the vein of “Game of Thrones.”

Today, however, those rumors were put to rest, at least until someone decides to bring it up again. Satoru Iwata, President of Nintendo, stated: “As of now, I have nothing new to share with you in regard to the use of our IPs for any TV shows or films, but I can at least confirm that the article in question is not based on correct information.”

So it looks like we still can’t look forward to seeing Link in live action. Maybe some day it will be a reality, but maybe it’s better to keep the games as games only, give or take the enjoyable manga adaptation.
