New Tabletop RPG Based on ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ & ‘The Legend of Korra’ in the Works

Are you an Air Bender? Fire Bender? Water Bender? Or an Earth Bender? You can now play out play out that fantasy with the upcoming tabletop RPG based off Nickelodeon‘s ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ and ‘The Legend of Korra’ franchises.

Earlier today Magpie Games has announced that they have secured a multi-year licensing agreement with ViacomCBS Consumer Products to produce a TTRPG set in the world of ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’.

Magpie Games have produced a number of other TTRPGs such as ‘Masks: A New Generation’ and ‘Urban Shadows’. They’re also set to release the highly anticipated game ‘ROOT: The Roleplaying Game’.

Fans will now be able to take part in the world of Avatar, become the hero, and create their own stories. From the information that’s been presented right now, we know that players will be able to make their own characters by use of playbooks which are templates of familiar character tropes and archetypes.

The story possibilities are immense, players can play as rebels during the invasion of the Fire Nation during the ‘Avatar: The Last Airbender’ story arc Or they can take on the roles of diplomats after the war and create peace between the nations. They can even pursue the various mysteries of the Avatar world in a myriad of different time periods.

The Core Book is scheduled for release in February of 2022. It will be followed by two supplements; ‘Republic City’ in August of 2022 and ‘The Spirit World’ in February of 2023 .
