Fans kept binging Young Justice, and it’s paid off, with the announcement of a third season! The show came to a jarring conclusion after season 2, where Darkseid was revealed only for the show to end, but it seems the young once-sidekicks have another chance to save the day.
An announcement from Warner Bros. Animation declares that production has begun on a third season, promising “new twists, turns, and dangerous threats for the team, but most importantly, the opportunity for fans to finally continue the adventures of some of their favorite Super Heroes.”
While little more information has been provided, so things such as premiere date and network partner will have to wait for another time, fan reaction has already been tremendous. Of course, it’s that fan reaction that brought the show back in the first place.
Sam Register, Presideny of Warner Bros. Animation and Warner Digital Series explains: “The affection that fans have had for ‘Young Justice,’ and their rallying cry for more episodes, has always resonated with us.” While the show’s lackluster toy sales may have initially led to its cancellation, the series picked up a lot of momentum on Netflix, and fans constantly tweeted #KeepBingingYJ to show that they will indeed watch the show over and over again to show their devotion and need for a new season.
It seems that Warner Bros. has listened. More information will be coming soon.
