What’s dumber than a police officer saying “I get paid to beat up n*****s like you” out loud? Saying it into a microphone where someone else is recording it to put it on the internet.
The footage captures the former Deputy — Michael Slater — entering into an argument with another player known only as “David” (who was making a “trolling” video), which quickly escalates, to the point where Slater can be heard giving his home address to the man so that they can presumably thrown down.
It’s around this time that Slater can be heard saying “You about to come to a f*****g paid police officer’s house. I get paid to beat up n*****s like you.”
Cherie Ward, a spokesperson for the Sheriff’s Office, confirmed to The Clarion-Ledger (via Ars Technica) that it was indeed Slater making the threats on the video, and that he was “terminated immediately after the sheriff became aware of the video”.
