Noob Saibot & Shang Tsung Revealed for ‘Mortal Kombat 11’

Two big announcements were made at the ‘Mortal Kombat 11’ panel during Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo. First off, NetherRealm Studios unveils that Noob Saibot will be joining the main roster of the game.

The shadowly ninja named after series creators Ed Boon and John Tobias now sports a somewhat new look with some armor. In the character reveal trailer we see him make use of various weapons, a shadow doppelganger, and his new fatality in which he disembowels his enemy, then sends his doppelganger inside them, and bursts out like a xenomorph. It’s pretty gruesome.

The second character that was revealed was the shapeshifting sorcerer Shang Tsung. Unlike the other characters on the roster the soul stealer will be a DLC option. My favorite thing about the character right off the bat is that he looks just like actor Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa (Reagan and Planet of the Apes) who played him in the first live action movie. During the panel we didn’t get a chance to see any gameplay but hopefully we’ll see something soon.

‘Mortal Kombat 11’ is set to hit shelves for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on April 23rd. Who are you hoping to see join the main roster or as a DLC character? Let us know!
