Tiny Death Star, Pixel Art Mobile Game Announced

8bit star wars

Disney Mobile  announced Tiny Death Star is in development for mobile devices. The game is being created by developer Nimblebit, the company behind Tiny Tower and Pocket Planes. The official blurb from Disney:

The Empire needs your help! In collaboration with Lucas Arts and Tiny Tower creators NimbleBit, Disney Mobile introduces Star Wars: Tiny Death Star, a new game for mobile devices. Live life on the dark side and join Emperor Palpatine and Darth Vader on a mission to attract Galactic bitizens, run intergalactic businesses, and build an all-new Death Star. Construct unique Star Wars themed locations to attract iconic characters and species to your space station in this 8-bit style game. Star Wars: Tiny Death Star will soon be available worldwide.

The game will most likely be just like Tiny Tower but  constructing a Death Star instead of a office tower. Players will likely lose track of time and inhibitions when they start playing, as Tiny Tower was great at sucking you in to the game with it’s Pixel Art graphics, and over all appeal. The game will most likely be a “Freemium” game just like Tiny Tower

The Hungry Gamer Previews Quin

Quin is an interesting game to me, because it is definitely different than anything I have on my shelf. The difference is not that is uses magnets (I have Coloma after all), or because it deals with light and shadow (I have plenty of adventure games after all...though this one kind of is literally about light and shadow, not metaphorically). The difference is that I have never played a game with more variety of rules for each individual type of playing piece you have.
